What You Need to Know About Electrosurgery

Session 1.2 | What You Need to Know About Electrosurgery

Chair: Nicolas Van Mieghem

Panel: Mohamed Abdel-Wahab; Giuseppe Tarantini; Philipp Lurz; Adam Greenbaum

Electrosurgery is rapidly transforming structural interventions, enabling procedures that were previously not feasible. This session provides a practical, clinically focused overview of transcatheter electrosurgery, including its principles, tools and expanding applications. From transcaval access to leaflet modification techniques such as BASILICA and LAMPOON, the expert faculty will demonstrate how controlled tissue traversal and laceration can optimise procedural success and reduce complications, particularly coronary obstruction. Emphasis is placed on technique refinement, energy delivery and procedural planning, with real-world examples from leading operators.
